Subject: Training Opportunities on Research Security
Message:
Advancing and promoting scientific research initiatives is more important today than ever. Doing so in a manner that protects public health, safety, and Canada’s national security interests requires a careful balance with effective risk management strategies to protect from potential harms cause by malicious actors.
Public Safety Canada’s Safeguarding Science workshops are made available to researchers across all fields to promote strong research security practices by helping to recognize and mitigate risks related to the potential for misuse of research and related assets. Additional training modules have been added to the Safeguarding Science series and offer a deeper dive into various research security-related topics. New topics include protecting your research while travelling abroad (module 6), and techniques for evaluating risks related to research partnerships (module 7).
If you are looking to learn more about tools, best practices, concepts, and other resources that can strengthen your oversight system and protect your research, check out the training modules being offered during the Fall 2025 schedule. Registration is now open on Public Safety Canada’s website.
