About Us

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) Training Portal is managed by the Centre for Biosecurity’s Biosafety Learning and Knowledge Team.  The Training Portal is a platform to assist a wide range of users from regulated parties and regulatory officials to school children, to learn about matters of health and safety.   

The Centre for Biosecurity Materials   

The Centre for Biosecurity has developed, among other resources, training materials regarding biosafety and biosecurity matters. The Centre for Biosecurity materials on this Training Portal are offered to users for educational purposes.    

The Learning and Knowledge Team strives to review and update its materials in a timely manner in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.  A refresh date is provided for each resource to inform our users when it was last updated. Please consult the appropriate Acts and regulations, the Canadian Biosafety Standard, the Public Health Agency of Canada’s website and other Government of Canada sites for the most up-to-date information.  

Other Materials   

The  PHAC Training Portal hosts materials and resources developed by other centres within PHAC and by a range of other departments and agencies of the Government of Canada, including Health Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and Statistics Canada.    

The Centre for Biosecurity does not review the content of the materials posted by other divisions of PHAC or departments or agencies within the Government of Canada.
