How to change a Licence Holder Representative

The process for changing a licence holder representative can seem daunting, but it’s a relatively easy process that can be completed via the Biosecurity Portal.

To change your licence holder representative, follow these 3 steps:

• 1.        The new licence holder representative must first register on the Biosecurity Portal.
• 2.        Once onboarded by the Licensing Team, the new licence holder representative can initiate a change of licence holder representative:
• a.        Sign in to the Biosecurity Portal and click on “Changing a Licence Holder Representative”;
• b.       At the top right corner, click on the button with a + sign to “Initiate a change of licence holder representative”;
• c.        Confirm the following information: the licence number(s), the effective date, and the reason for changing the licence holder representative and click on the bubble “Accept”; and
• d.       Click on “Save and submit”.
• 3.        Your licence holder representative change is complete if you are redirected to the previous page with a green message at the top that confirms “Success! Change of licence holder saved successfully.”

You can confirm that your change of licence holder request has been submitted by viewing that same “Changing a licence holder representative” page. It will now be bolded under the title “Submitted” rather than “Draft”, and a licence holder request number (LT-XX-XXXXXXX) will be assigned to your request.

Note that as a condition of your licence, the contact details of individuals associated with the licence and provided to the Public Health Agency of Canada must be kept up to date at all times. Failure to keep this information updated may lead to enforcement actions.
