Enrolment options

Course Overview: This course, as part of a Radiation Safety Program, provides information and guidance pertaining to radiation safety during receipt, storage, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials. 

An enrolment key is required for this course. Please speak to your Health Canada (HC) Radiation Safety Officer or Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) safety coordinator to obtain the enrolment key.

Learning Objectives: The Radiation Safety course introduces HC’s Radiation Safety Program including its members and documentation requirements.  At the end of the course, you should be able to understand what radiation is, how to protect yourself from various types of radiation, how to clean a spill and handle radioactive waste, and what to do in emergency situations.

Target Audience: This course is for Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada (HC/PHAC) personnel whose work responsibilities involve receipt, storage, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials.

Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours
