The goal of the webinar was to dive into equipment and system consideration that guide the selection process for safe and efficient laboratory operation. The presentation includes Transfer Equipment, Controlled Activity Equipment, and touched on the activities of the Biocontainment Engineering Science Working Group!

This Webinar is aimed at biocontainment professionals that are newer in the field. We’ll lay the foundation of what constitutes a complete biosafety program, and how it translates into the design and operation of a facility. This includes how to elaborate your program and procedures, as well as how to make a lab (new construction or renovation) physically fit your needs. We’ll also cover specific considerations for animal works, for small and large animals zones.

This webinar will provide updates on Laboratory Incident Reporting Canada 2022 Annual Report, Risk Group 3 Fungi Directive, Licensing updates and the Canadian Biosafety (CBS3) mobile app.
