This online course covers the basics of everyday risks and hazards, focusing on how these apply to CFIA's modernized inspection approach. It explains the core elements of Risk Analysis and outlines CFIA's Risk-Based Oversight strategy and Integrated Risk Management Framework.

Inspectors will use a combination of inspection methods and techniques to assess compliance to regulatory requirements for all three inspection task types (Preventive Control, Sample Collection, and Commodity Inspection), including, where applicable certain verification activities. This online course is intended for inspectors who will be delivering inspections using the Standard Inspection Procedure (SIP).

This online course is intended for inspectors who will be delivering inspections using the Standard Inspection Process (SIP) approach. Participants will be introduced to the four inspection steps, prepare for the inspection, conduct the inspection, communicate the inspection results and conduct the follow up inspection.

This online course is a complement to the Introduction to the Standard Inspection Process (SIP) online course. Intended for inspectors using the SIP approach, participants will focus on the Preventive Control Inspection (PCI) task type, one of three types of inspections using the SIP approach.

Commodity inspections consist of a range of inspection tasks found across all business lines. This online course will help inspectors build foundational knowledge of the commodity inspection task type, which is one of three inspection task types found within the Standard Inspection Process (SIP).

This online course is designed to provide CFIA inspectors with foundational knowledge to support the application of the Standard Inspection Process (SIP) in inspection activities completed under the Sample Collection task type.
