This course presents introductory information on biosafety; the application of appropriate biological safety and biocontainment principles and practices. At the end of this course learners will be able to identify the key components of biosafety; recognize the types of microorganisms; be familiar with biosafety practices and responsibilities; understand and assess risks; and, identify the different pathogen risk groups and laboratory containment levels.
