This refresher course provides a brief overview of the key Inspector Powers that fall under the Human Pathogen and Toxins Act (HPTA) and Health of Animals Act (HAA). These powers can be invoked by inspectors that are designated to perform compliance monitoring, verification, and enforcement under the HPTA and HAA.
When in doubt, inspectors should always refer to the specific details in the Acts and regulations.
This course is reserved for inspectors designated under the Human Pathogens and Toxins Act (HPTA) and the Health of Animals Act (HAA). Note: Individuals cannot request course registration at this time.
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
• explain the inspector powers that appear within the HPTA and the HAA
• identify the differences and similarities between the inspector powers found within the HPTA and HAA
• interpret specific inspector powers related to: entry by inspectors; including warrants to enter dwelling house, serious and imminent danger, storage and removal, and seizure and detention
