This e-learning course outlines the meaning, purpose and methods of dealing with a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) when they are declared. It begins by examining information included in the International Health Regulations (2005) document. It also examines the various methods the Government of Canada has available in alerting the public when a PHEIC is declared and the precautions they should take.

The Quarantine Scenarios online training course will provide learners with
the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have gained from the prerequisite
courses [Roles and Responsibilities of Quarantine Officers, Key Partners and
Players; Quarantine Act; and Public Health Emergency of International Concern
training will assist in preparing learners for potential public health
situations by anticipating appropriate independent and team responses.
